The seasonal farm and harvest work can be located on a range of orchards, vegetable farms and vineyards scattered all through the south west and east of Western Australia and in areas just north of Perth Metro Area.

The orchards and vineyards start with the picking and packing in the summer months the work then leads to the pruning in the autumn and winter months. Spring time brings the shoot and fruit thinning along with some more picking.

The vegetable farms have picking and packing all year round depending on the location of the farm. There is also an array of other jobs like tree planting and lopping, flower picking and working in tree nurseries.

Staying in working hostels and sharehouses you will always be surrounded by other travellers from all over the world where you will still get to enjoy your stay make new friends and have fun while you are working.

Sheep and wheat farms are usually combined on the same farm. During different times of the year there is wheat seeding and harvesting and when there is no wheat work there is sheep farming. In some parts of the year you may be doing bits of both.  

Many of the sheep and wheat farms require experienced tractor drivers. This is during the times of seeding and harvesting. Seeding is around April/May and Harvesting is around October/November. These jobs are high paying jobs with long hours and free accommodation. Some farms also require nannies and/or house helps. The house helps is a great way to work on the farms without the heavy labour, yet you still get to experience living on a farm.  

The other animal farms are dairy, chicken and pig farms. All farmwork involves feeding and cleaning the animals and their housing along with milking cows on the dairy farms and collecting eggs on the chicken farms.
